CTA Construction to Impact North Side Red Line Riders This Weekend

CTA officials encourage commuters to allow extra time for travel throughout the weekend

Construction to improve the tracks on the Red Line route on the city's North Side will impact commuters at several stations this weekend.

Starting at 10 p.m. Friday and ending at 4 a.m. Monday, Howard-bound Red Line trains will bypass the Wilson, Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Granville stations. Southbound trains will continue to stop at these stations.

For service to the impacted stations, commuters can take a Howard-bound train to the Loyola stop and transfer to a 95th-bound train to backtrack to one of the impacted stations.

For service from the impacted stations, commuters can take a 95th-bound train to Sheridan and transfer to a Howard-bound train which will run from Sheridan to Loyola with no stops.
