CTA Blue Lines service was suspended for several hours on the Near West Side after a derailment was reported Monday morning in the Illinois Medical District.
The derailment happened near the Illinois Medical District station at 430 S. Damen Ave. at 11:45 a.m., according to the CTA. No injuries were reported.
Service was been suspended between UIC-Halsted and Pulaski for more than two hours, according to the CTA. Trains began resuming around 2:30 p.m. with residual delays expected.
Shuttle buses were also providing service through the affected area.
