CPS Teacher Accused of Having Sex with Student in Classroom

A teacher at a South Side high school was charged Friday for allegedly having sex with a student in her classroom.

Bridgette Miller, 39, was charged with criminal sexual assault and ordered held on $150,000 bond Friday after authorities alleged she had sexual contact with a CPS student.

Miller is listed as a medical technology teacher at Chicago Vocational Career Academy, according to the school’s website.

The Sun-Times reports that court documents allege Miller asked a student for the cell phone number of a 17-year-old classmate, then sent the teen text messages, which were later recovered by authorities.

Miller and the student allegedly had sex behind a Walgreens near 87th Street and South Cregier Avenue on March 17, and later in Miller’s classroom in the CPS school in the 2100 block of East 87th Street, the Sun-Times reported.

Miller is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing Aug. 29.

The school and CPS officials could not be reached for comment Saturday.
