Burglar Left Photo on Stolen Laptop: Cops

Police are now using the partial photo to help track him down

Riverside Police Chief Tom Weitzel calls it an “arrogant act of self-confidence."

A man suspected of burglarizing a Riverside home last week apparently forgot to delete a partial photo of himself from the computer he stole and then resold, Weitzel said.

Police are now using the photo to help track him down.

The burglary happened between Aug. 19 and Aug. 22, police said. One of the stolen items was an Apple Macbook Pro laptop, which was recovered last Thursday from a Cicero electronics store on the 6100 Block of Cermak Road.

The owner of the laptop and police detectives found the partial image of the burglary suspect. The suspect appears to be a white male in his 40s, police said.

"I’m hoping that someone will recognize this partial photo and call with information,” said Riverside Detective Sgt. David Krull.

Anyone who might know the suspect is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Dave Krull at 708-447-2127, X284 or dkrull@riverside.il.us.
