Bulls Acquire Carter-Williams in Trade With Bucks

The Chicago Bulls added another weapon to their backcourt on Monday, as they acquired Michael Carter-Williams in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks

The Chicago Bulls are preparing for the 2016-17 season, and on Sunday they made a trade to bolster their guard depth as they acquired Michael Carter-Williams from the Milwaukee Bucks.

In exchange, the Bulls sent guard Tony Snell to the Bucks in a swap that landed them a player taken 11th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft.

“We’re excited to add Michael to our roster,” Bulls G.M. Gar Forman said in a statement. “He is a two-way player who adds versatility and depth to our backcourt rotation.”

Carter-Williams, who averaged 11.5 points and 5.2 assists per game last season with the Bucks, is yet another new face in the Bulls’ backcourt as the team looks to establish a more up-tempo identity under head coach Fred Hoiberg. Free agent acquisitions like Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo are already hoping to make the team play faster and more effectively on the offensive end of the floor, and the Bulls are banking on Carter-Williams to be able to do that, likely in a bench role.

The Bulls will next take the court on Monday night when they battle the Charlotte Hornets in a preseason game at the United Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
