Brandon Marshall to Appear on “A Football Life” Friday

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been in the headlines for all sorts of reasons during his career in the NFL, and all of his high and low moments will be on display Friday night when the NFL Network airs their biography of the receiver in a new edition of “A Football Life.”

The show, which profiles the careers of current and former NFL players, will focus primarily on Marshall’s troubled past, and how he’s reformed himself after some early tumult. According to Ed Sherman of the Chicago Tribune, the show will not only feature Marshall’s advocacy on behalf of mental illness research and treatment, but also on his relationship with teammates and coaches, including quarterback Jay Cutler.

Here’s how Sherman described the show:

“The bulk of the film, though, is on Marshall’s struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder. NFL Films’ access to game sound graphically illustrates how the condition affects him. While on the sidelines during a game in Denver Marshall is shown letting out a long, piercing wail.

“Now, armed with awareness and coping mechanisms, sound from Bears games dramatically reveals how Marshall extinguishes flareups that arise from his condition.”

The program will air on NFL Network at 8pm Central time on Friday night, with a repeat at 10pm.
