A young boy was struck in the head by a bullet while he was in a car on the West Side early Sunday.

The boy was with two others in a parked car on the 3300 block of West Madison Street around 12:50 a.m. when shots rang out, according to police News Affairs.

The boy suffered a graze wound to his head and was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police.

The motive was unknown and no one was in custody early Sunday. The boy was 3 years old, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
