Two men have been charged with felony counts of burglary and robbery after they were matched to suspect descriptions in two separate incidents that took place on Saturday.
Cameron L. Johnson, 19, of the 1100 block of North Spaulding, and Steven Edwards, 18, of 1300 block of North Monticello were each charged with one count of felony burglary and one count of felony robbery. Edwards was also wanted for probation violation, according to a release from police News Affairs.
Cameron Johnson, 19, and Steven Edwards, 18, were charged after they were matched to suspect descriptions in two separate incidents--a robbery and a burglary-- that took place on the same day.
The robbery happened on the 1400 block of North Homan Avenue and the burglary occurred on the 1300 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
Shakespeare District officers responding to an auto burglary apprehended the two men because they matched witness descriptions. They were later identified and charged after they were found with the stolen items, the release said.
At the same time, additional officers were searching for two men in a strong armed robbery --the same men later identified as Johnson and Edwards, the release said.
Both are scheduled for bond hearings Sunday, the release said.
