Bones Found in River North an Animal's

The building last housed an antique furniture and art store

The skeleton a building contractor dug up Wednesday at a River North construction site turned out to be that of an animal.

The medical examiner's office found Thursday the bones found in the basement of a 19th century building under construction were not human as suspected.

Crews were renovating the building in the 100 block of West Kinzie Street when the contractor found the skeleton around 10:30 a.m. as they dug out the basement.

The building last housed an antique furniture and art store.
