Bolingbrook Man Charged With Selling Fake Hawks Tickets

DuPage County Sheriff's Office

Edgar I. Kim

Police arrested a Bolingbrook man Thursday for allegedly selling fake Blackhawks tickets on Craigslist.

Edgar I. Kim, 29, was charged with one count of forgery, a class 3 felony, DuPage County Sheriff John Zaruba said in a statement.

Zaruba said a victim replied to an ad placed on Craigslist for two Hawks tickets for sale. The victim responded to the ad and met the suspect at a business in unincorporated DuPage County to purchase the tickets, Zaruba said.

"It wasn’t until the victim went to the game that it was discovered that the tickets were not real tickets," he said.

Sheriff’s detectives investigated the sale of the tickets and multiple leads led to the arrest of Kim, who is being held in the DuPage County Jail on $10,000 bond.
