Body Pulled From River in Streeterville: Police

Police said the body appeared to be an adult male

The body of a man was pulled from the Chicago River in the Streeterville neighborhood Sunday morning, police said.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit and 18th District officers responded to the river in the 500 block of East Grand at 10:04 a.m. after someone reported spotting a floating body, police said.

Police pulled the body out of the water and said it appears to be of an adult male. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death.

A source said the body looked like it had been floating in the water “for some time.”
