10: CUBS SOLD: More than 2 1/2 years after the marquee Chicago Cubs baseball franchise was put on the market, the Tribune Co. in October sold the club, storied Wrigley Field and other assets to the family of billionaire Joe Ricketts. The $845 million sale topped the record $660 million paid for the Boston Red Sox and its related properties in 2002.
