Bicyclist Killed in Pilsen Hit-and-Run

The man was riding his bike to meet with friends

Chicago police are questioning a man for the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist in Pilsen early Tuesday morning. 

A car hit the man, 30, while he was riding his bike in the 1100 block of West 18th Street around 12:52 a.m., police said. 

The driver drove off. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.
 
 
Officers found a car matching the hit-and-run’s car description near 14th and Halsted Street and arrested the driver, police said. They suspect alcohol played a role.
 
He was taken to Stroger Hospital in unknown condition.
 
Police confirmed charges are pending against the driver.
