Chicago police are questioning a man for the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist in Pilsen early Tuesday morning.

A car hit the man, 30, while he was riding his bike in the 1100 block of West 18th Street around 12:52 a.m., police said.

The driver drove off. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

Officers found a car matching the hit-and-run’s car description near 14th and Halsted Street and arrested the driver, police said. They suspect alcohol played a role.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in unknown condition.

Police confirmed charges are pending against the driver.
