The Chicago Bears made it a point to sign all of their drafted players within a week of the NFL Draft in 2014, and it seems as though they are making that a priority again this year as they agreed to four-year contracts with Tayo Fabuluje, Adrian Amos, and Jeremy Langford.
Langford was picked in the fourth round of the draft, and he could potentially be a replacement for Matt Forte in the 2016 season. The running back out of Michigan has great speed, solid hands, and can bounce runs to the outside, but questions about his ability to run between the tackles hurt his draft stock slightly.
Amos, who was selected in the fifth round of the draft over the weekend, is a potential candidate to play safety for the Bears this season, competing for playing time with Antrel Rolle and Brock Vereen. He also has plenty of versatility to his game, so there is a chance that he could slot in as a cornerback or as a nickel corner once the regular season gets underway.
Fabuluje was the team’s sixth round pick, and the offensive tackle out of TCU could potentially compete for a starting role on the offensive line this coming season. With Roberto Garza’s departure and Jordan Mills’ ineffectiveness in the 2014 season, there are at least two spots that will be open for competition, and there will be a new look to the line next year.
Fabuluje will likely compete with Hroniss Graus and Will Montgomery for playing time, and the Bears also claimed Paul Cornick off waivers from the Denver Broncos on Tuesday to join that competition on the line.
