Police mum on whether victims' son accused of murders

A Northwest Side bar owner and her ex-husband are dead and a suspect is in custody accused of stabbing them to death.

Henryka Waskowski, 67, was chased down the street and stabbed to death shortly after 2 a.m. at the 5700 block of West Irving Park Road, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Waskowski, the owner of Henryka's, and a 34-year-old employee were walking near the bar when they were approached and attacked. The employee survived after being stabbed once in the back. He later told police he believed the suspect to be Waskowski's son, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Waskowski was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 3 a.m., authorities said.

Henryka Waskowski's ex-husband, Cezar Waskowski, was later found dead in him home in the 3700 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, according to the Tribune.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect in custody.
