Bail Set For Man Accused Of Planning Violent School Attack

Former student's friend alerts police of violent plan

A former Glenbard High School student is being held on a $500,000 bond after he was arrested for allegedly planning a violent attack at the school.

Michael Santoro, 19, is charged with one felony count of disorderly conduct.

Authorities say Santoro started making plans in November to commit an act of violence against the school.

A friend of Santoro's says Santoro told him about his plan in February, but didn't alert police until two weeks ago.

Investigators say the students and staff at the school were never in any immediate danger.

Santoro also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of ammunition without a FOID card.
