Baby Beating Caught on Nanny Cam: Cops

Parents noticed daughter became "withdrawn"

A "nanny cam" led to battery charges against a Chicago babysitter who cared for a 15-month-old toddler.

Andrea del Pilar Aguilar, of the 2600 block of West Berwyn Avenue, was charged with aggravated battery to a child for allegedly choking and shaking a 15-month-old girl.

The parents spotted a bruise on their daughter's body and noticed she had become "increasingly withdrawn." They set up a hidden camera last week to watch Aguilar's interaction with their daughter, according to a police report.

When they watched the footage, they saw their 31-year-old babysitter "violently choking and shaking" their daughter while she sat in her high chair, police records showed.

Police arrested Aguilar at her bosses' home Wednesday and charged her the next day.

She is due back in court March 3.
