Aurora Man Gets 10 Years For Molesting Two Children For Years

A west suburban man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday for sexually assaulting two children, one younger than 13, over a period of about six years, according to prosecutors.

As part of a plea deal, Miguel Samano, 47, of the 1100 block of Grove Street in Aurora, agreed to a 10-year sentence in exchange for his guilty plea to predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Kane County state’s attorney’s office.

Circuit Judge Susan Clancy Boles accepted the plea and sentenced Samano to seven years for the predatory sexual assault and three years for sexual abuse. By law he must serve at least 85 percent of the time, and

According to Illinois law, Samano must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence for the predatory criminal sexual assault and register for life as a sexual offender, prosecutors said.

According to evidence presented, Samano committed sexual acts with the victims, whom he knew, between 2006 and 2012, prosecutors said. One victim was younger than 13 at the time, and the other was younger than 18.

Samano was given credit for at least 375 days served in the Kane County jail, prosecutors said.
