Attempted ‘Crash-and-Grab' Reported in Chicago

Another attempted crash-and-grab burglary was reported in Chicago Thursday.

Police said at least two men ran a stolen van into a store window just after 4 a.m. in the 2300 block of West 95th Street.

The building was reported to be the SHOP 147 in the city’s Beverly neighborhood. Officials said nothing was taken from the store.

The van could be seen lodged into the front of the building Thursday morning.

The store’s owner said the shop has been open for a little over a year and has been broken into at least four times. He said thieves previously took specific brands of jeans or shoes.

It is the third crash-and-grab reported in the Chicago area in the last week.

Police said a North Side Best Buy was targeted Monday and another was reported at a Best Buy in Tinley Park on Saturday.
