Art Institute Lions Get Wreathed

Friday's wreathing marks the 22nd year of the holiday tradition

The two lions outside the Art Institute of Chicago got their annual holiday makeover.

The museum decorated the iconic bronze statues with evergreen wreaths during a Friday morning ceremony. It's the 22nd year of the holiday tradition.

Members of the public who gathered outside the museum's Michigan Avenue entrance were treated to live holiday music and complimentary hot chocolate.

The Institute's mascot, Artie the Lion, also made an appearance.

Friday also marks the start of the Chicago Transit Authority's holiday train rides as well as other city traditions.
