More than $580,000 worth of pot plants were discovered -- and destroyed -- from cornfields in McHenry County, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. The plants stood between three and five feet tall and were ready for harvest, authorities said.

Family Feud
Irving Park
An Irving Park neighborhood woman was arrested for spitting on her father and threatening to punch her sister in the eye Sunday night while visiting her family on the Northwest Side, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. She was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and misdemeanor assault

Teen Shoots Self
Back of the Yards
A 17-year-old boy said he was wounded when he shot himself in the leg, the Chicago Tribune reported. However, police said the boy did not have a gun and they weren't able to find one.
