Man Shot Dead

Pilsen
A 40-year-old man was shot in the head and killed Friday night in the 700 block of West 19th Place, the Chicago Tribune reported.  Police were releasing little information about the shooting.

Man Killed, Another Injured in Shooting
Auburn-Gresham
Two men -- ages 20 and 23 -- were shot Thursday night while standing on the street on the 7900 block of South Paulina Ave, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.  The younger man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police Shoot Pit Bull
Flossmoor
Police shot a pit bull after it had attacked a community service officer and was about to go after another, the Southtown Star reported.  The dog was euthanized at the request of its owner.
