Police have sent out an alert over a rash of strong-arm robberies in Albany Park.
In each case, a male offender has approached a young female victim and forcibly taken their property, police said. They all took place in the afternoon or early evening.
In two cases, the offender is described as a male, 40-45 years old, between 5’9” and 6’2” with short black hair and a birthmark on his face. In another instance, the offender if described as a male, 22-23 years old, 5’6”-5’7” with black hair.
Women in the area are not happy about being singled out.
"It's hard to know my gender is being targeted because we're seen as easy targets," said local resident Kayla Appleby. "It's rough, rough to think about."
Police recommend that people be aware of their surroundings at all times and report any suspicious people or vehicles in the area.
