A woman was charged for allegedly swiping a Chicago Fire Department ambulance late Sunday from St. Bernard Hospital in Englewood, police said.

Cassie Weathersby, 30, of the 1600 block of North Mango Avenue is accused of allegedly taking the emergency vehicle around 10:50 p.m. outside the hospital in the 300 block of West 64th Street, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.

Weathersby was charged with stealing a vehicle, driving on a suspended license and driving under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested after police said she fled a mile east across the Dan Ryan and then crashed into another vehicle in the 6700 block of South Indiana Avenue.

The woman wasn't injured. The motive behind the theft is unclear.
