Texas Girl in AMBER Alert Found Safe

UPDATE: An AMBER alert was cancelled Sunday morning after a 12-year-old girl missing from Texas was found safe.

An AMBER alert issued for Cedar Hill, Texas was also issued in Illinois Saturday when an investigation indicated a vehicle carrying an abducted 12-year-old may be heading to the Chicago area, police said.

The alert was issued in Texas Friday after Sommer Brown was reportedly abducted, but it was extended into Illinois Saturday.

Sommer is a black female, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 90 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top and black basketball shorts.

The suspected abductor, Lisa Elizabeth Brown, who is Sommer's non-custodial mother, is described as 5-foot-8, 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black blazer and a light green shirt.

Brown, 43, and Sommer were said to be driving in a gray 2006 Ford Expedition with a temporary Texas license of 86p3357.

No further details were immediately available on Sommer's return.
