An AMBER Alert issued Tuesday night after an 8-year-old girl vanished was canceled Wednesday evening after the girl was found unharmed.

Sophia Snow was found with her mother, Jennifer Ansari, 37, at a home in Louisville, Ky. Both were recovered unharmed, officials said.

Ansari was taken into custody in connection with her daughter's disappearance and was being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on an Indiana warrant.

The pair disappeared Tuesday from their home in Fishers, Ind. Ansari was supposed to return the girl to her father, police said, but likely took the girl after realizing she was losing custody to her ex-husband.

When the alert was issued, police said they believed the girl was in extreme danger.
