Amane Gobena of Ethopia hopes to be among the leaders down the homestretch in Chicago.

She arrives fresh off a personal best and a second-place finish at the 2015 Paris Marathon in 2:23:30. In Paris, she shaved 21 seconds off her previous fastest time and was overtaken only in the final 500 meters.

Gobena’s highlights also include winning the 2015 Bogata International Half Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race and the 2014 Los Angeles Marathon.
