Jonathan Koziol and Robert Hack face felony charges.

Two suburban men face charges in connection with a confrontation with an off-duty police officer outside a Norwood Park Jewel that led to gunfire.

Jonathan Koziol, 30, of Schiller Park, and Robert Hack, 29, of Des Plaines, each face felony counts of aggravated assault to a peace officer and retail theft with a previous conviction.

Police say the officer was alerted by employees about two men in the parking lot who had stolen items from the store at the corner of Foster and Harlem avenues.

Investigators say the officer tried to stop the men and fired her weapon after they accelerated the car in her direction.
