Alleged Student Sexual Assault “Not A Random Act”

A 14-year-old student was charged with criminal sexual assault

The alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old student at Evanston Township High School on Monday was “not a random act,” according to school officials.

A 14-year-old student was charged with criminal sexual assault after he allegedly forced the girl into performing a sexual act on him against her will.

A school safety officer came upon the pair in a school stairwell during school hours, according to a notice posted to the school’s website

However, the school is saying the students had been seen together in the hallway prior to the encounter, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The teen boy was taken into custody at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center. He has been charged as a juvenile and faces one felony count of criminal sexual assault, according to police.

Due to their ages, the students' names were not released.
