Man Thrown From Balcony During Robbery

Chicago police are looking for a man who threw a man over his third floor balcony during the course of a robbery Tuesday night in the Gresham neighborhood. Christian Farr reports.

Two alleged robbers were taken into police custody Wednesday night after partygoers they attempted to rob fought back.

Police said a four armed offenders entered a party on the fourth floor of a building in the 1900 block of North Austin Avenue around 9:45 p.m.

The group announced a robbery and two offenders fled with cash and jewelry, according to authorities.

The other two offenders were held by the victims for police, officials said, and were taken into custody.

Both of the detained suspects were transported to area hospitals, police said. One offender went to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition and the other went to West Suburban Medical Center in stable condition.

A weapon was recovered, police said. Charges are pending against the two suspects and the scene was cleared by midnight.
