Police said an intruder was not found inside the school

UPDATE: Girl Made Up Story, Cop Say

A west suburban junior high school was locked down Friday morning after a girl was found restrained in a school restroom, authorities said.

Addison Police would not release further details during a briefing following the incident at Indian Trail Junior High School but said no intruder was found.

Around 11 a.m. Friday, a spokeswoman for Addison School District 4 confirmed the school went on hard lockdown for a possible intruder in the building. She could not confirm further details about the situation and said all the students were safe.

Police issued the all-clear just after 1 p.m., and students were released at around 1:30 p.m. It remains unclear what happened inside the school.

Police blocked all entrances to the school and were seen patrolling outside. Some parents told NBC Chicago they called or texted kids inside, and the students said they were told a suspicious person was inside the school. The kids are nervous, parents said.

This is the fourth lockdown and the first hard lockdown at the school in the past month.
