Abusive Father May Face More Charges

Infant son died in hospital

The 23-year who has been jailed for abusing his infant son could face additional charges.

The two-year-old believed to have been violently shaken died over Labor Day weekend. Alexander Pearson, Jr., was hospitalized at Children's Habilitation Center most of his life for fractured arms, ribs, and blunt trauma to the head.

In August 2008, his father, Alexander Pearson, Sr., 23, was charged with aggravated battery of a child, attempted murder with intent to kill and aggravated domestic battery for abusing his newborn. Having admitted to the crimes, Pearson has been in jail on $2 million bail since his arrest according to Chicago Police. He has a Sept. 23 court hearing.
