Dogs Rescued from Lake Ready for Adoption

Dogs were found struggling in icy waters last week

Two dogs who nearly lost their lives in last week's cold snap are now ready for adoption.

Howard and Honey were found struggling at Howard Street Beach last week. A Rogers Park woman and her friend waded into the icy water to rescue the dogs.

They were taken to the Broadway Animal Hospital where they were neutered and vaccinated.

"Despite their previous lack of care, and their near-death experience, they have no major medical issues," said a vet at the hospital. "Once they recover from their surgeries, they will be more than ready to go into a foster home, or hopefully a foster-to-adopt home."

Anyone interested in adopting Howard or Honey can find an application and submission procedures  at www.onetail.org.
