Location scouts for an A-List movie have filed for permits to shoot scenes in Wilmette next month.
Filmmakers hope to shoot at Central School at 910 Central Ave., a private residence on the 600 block of Greenleaf Ave., the Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home on the 100 block of Greenleaf Ave., and Gilson Beach.
They’ve asked town administrators for no parking zones near filming locations, parking lot closures, street blockades, traffic control, and fire department assistance to operate hydrants to make snow.
Shooting at Central School will take place on Nov. 23 and 29, and will involve extras and background actors.
“Filming at Central will take place primarily over Thanksgiving break, with one day in the afternoon when school is in session,” Wilmette School Superintendent Raymond Lechner told the Tribune. “We anticipate minimal disruption and lots of excitement. We are hopeful that Matt Damon will spend some time with students.”
Traffic will be affected on Greenleaf Avenue Nov. 8,9 and 10 for setup and shooting at the funeral home. Crews will shoot at the private residence on Nov. 24th and at Gilson Beach Nov. 23, 24 and Dec. 8th.
“Contagion” is scheduled for release in October of 2011.
