Eight people where hurt Monday night after a boating accident in Lake Michigan.

The boat was on it's way to a marina in Hammond, Indiana on Monday night when it hit a breakwall near 85th Street and South Green bay Avenue, according to coast guard officials.

11 people were on board at the time of the accident, including six adults and five children, according to fire officials.

Crews rushed 8 people to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, fire officials said.

Reports indicate lack of experience by the operator of the boat and night conditions may have caused the accident.
