Seven people were injured, including a girl who is 12 years old, when a car crashed into a porch on Chicago's South Side Tuesday, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
"I was at home and I got the call that my family was in an accident and I rushed over," said Keith Beck, whose son Kevin, 17, suffered a broken arm in the accident. "(I'm) just praying that's the only thing wrong with him."
The crash occurred near the intersection of West 80th St. and South Vincennes Avenue in the city's Gresham neighborhood, fire officials said.
The 12-year-old girl, who family identified as Keeshuna Patterson, was pinned against the porch and taken in "very critical" condition to Comer Children's Hospital, CFD tweeted. Her mother is with her.
Keeshuna was walking to a candy tent on the corner of West 80th Street and South Vincennes Avenue when she was struck by an SUV and pinned against the porch. Witnesses told NBC5 the SUV that struck her first clipped a white Chevy Impala and then a black Chevy Cruze.
"It jumped the curb and it was coming and I turned and I looked at the little girl," said witness John Stringfellow. "She was trying to like dodge it like a football player and it just mowed her over."
The driver of the car that struck the girl was taken into custody and then to St. Bernard Hospital with minor injuries where his condition had stabilized, police said.

Two other adults were taken to Holy Cross Hospital where both of their conditions had stabilized.
The CTA temporarily rerouted buses in the area until about 8:10 p.m.
Police continue to investigate.
