7 Rescued from Lake Michigan

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued seven people whose boat hit a breakwall in Lake Michigan.

A boat accident left seven people in need of a rescue off Calumet Beach on Chicago's Far South Side.

The boat hit a Lake Michigan break wall near East 98th Street late Sunday night, said officials.

The U.S. Coast Guard arrived on the scene around 11:20 p.m., a Coast Guard Calumet District Petty Officer told the Sun-Times.

All seven people were rescued and treated on the scene, said Fire Media Affairs.

No one went to the hospital.
