Six people were displaced, but no injuries were reported, Chicago fire officials said.
A two-alarm fire early Friday spread to four residential buildings in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, collapsing one of them.
No injuries were reported in the fire that started at around 4:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of West 52nd Street. Six people were displaced, though, and 11 were receiving help from human services, including three children.
Fire officials said the blaze began at 1208 W. 52nd, which later collapsed. One of the other buildings was severely damaged.
The fire's cause is still being investigated.
Firefighters struck out the blaze by 5:35 a.m. The CTA rerouted the No. 44 Wallace/Racine bus around the fire.
