A 34-year-old man was fatally shot in the head Sunday morning and at least 15 others were injured in shootings across Chicago this weekend.
The man was reportedly involved in an after-hours dispute around 6 a.m. at a bar in the 2500 block of West Division Street in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
The argument spilled into the street and the man was shot in the head and killed. A 20-year-old man was also shot in the arm, according to Officer Mirabelli.
Around 4:30 a.m. a 30-year-old man was shot by police after he pointed a shot gun at an officer near the 3600 block of W. Franklin Boulevard, officials said.
The man was shot in the arm and attempted to flee the scene but hit an elevation in the road along Central Park Avenue and landed on a viaduct. The man was taken into custody and treated at John H. Stroger Hospital.
An 18-year-old was shot around 4 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Randolph Street in West Town, injuring him in the legs and buttocks.
Minutes earlier, a 28-year-old was shot at 3:15 a.m. in the 3800 block of West Huron Street.
A 29-year-old was shot in the big toe during a robbery attempt around 2:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Barry Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood, police said.
Sunday's first shooting occurred when a 21-year-old was shot around 1 a.m. in the 5400 block of West Monroe Street and later taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, according to police news affairs.
Saturday's latest shooting occurred when a 19-year-old man was shot in the back around 11:10 p.m. in the 2100 block of East 97th Street, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center for treatment.
Earlier Saturday, an 18-year-old was shot in the thigh around 5 p.m. in the 1000 block of E. 75th Street in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the city’s South Side, police said.
Saturday afternoon a 54-year-old man was shot in the abdomen at 3:15 p.m. in the 7200 block of South Paxton Avenue, according to police news affairs.
Just two hours earlier, a 19-year-old woman was shot twice in the leg in the 6700 block of South Lafayette Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood, police said.
Saturday’s first shooting occurred around 2 a.m. when a 19-year-old man was shot in the 5900 block of South Normal Avenue. He was taken by a family member to Saint Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center for treatment, Officer Mirabelli said.
Shortly after, two men in their 20s were shot around 3:20 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Rockwell Saturday in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood.
A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition and a 26-year-old man was shot in the knee and reportedly refused treatment, police said.
The weekend's first shooting occurred when a 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg around 2 p.m. Friday in the 6400 block of South Claremont Avenue in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side, according to Officer John Mirabelli. He was treated in good condition at Holy Cross Hospital.
