As many as five people were shot, at least one of them fatally, on Chicago's West Side in the middle of the afternoon Friday, according to police.
The shooting took place just after 1:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of West Lake Street in the city's South Austin neighborhood, authorities said.
Police said five people sustained gunshot wounds in the area, one of whom was transported to Loyola University Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.
