5 Injured after Ambulance, SUV Collide in Northwest Suburbs

Two of the victims who were severely hurt were pinned inside a Honda CRV

A crash involving an SUV and an ambulance left five people injured, two severely, Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened at approximately 4 p.m. near Sutton Road and Tallgrass Court in northwest suburban Streamwood, according to the Streamwood Fire Department.

Two of the victims who were severely hurt were pinned inside a Honda CRV. Three people inside a private ambulance suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

The ambulance was transporting a patient at the time of the crash.

All five victims were transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.

Investigators have not released the cause of the crash.
