Four people were injured, including three Chicago police officers, in a traffic crash Wednesday evening at the intersection of West 87th Street and South Loomis Boulevard.
Three officers, all of whom were sergeants, were westbound on 87th Street in a marked squad car shortly after 8 p.m. when they collided with a white sedan while attempting to make a right turn onto Loomis, authorities said.
Two of the officers were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. A third was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. All were in stable condition by early Thursday morning.
The driver of the sedan, a 22-year-old man, was not injured, but his 26-year-old passenger was transported to Christ Hospital with a head injury.
The driver of the sedan was cited for lack of insurance and both he and his passenger were citied for not wearing a seatbelt, an official said.
