    It’s about to get more difficult to find phone numbers in this city.

    AT&T is closing its Chicago 411 office and axing 84 directory assistance operators, according to a filing with the state.

    With the advent, and popularity of smart phones and the Internet people just don’t use the service enough, the Chicago Tribune reports.

    AT&T, a Dallas-based company, has been consolidating its directory assistance services for years.

    It’s unclear how the shuttering will affect Chicago’s curious phone-number seekers.

    NBC had trouble finding the right number to call for answers.
