4 Hurt in Wrong-Way Crash on Kennedy

A wrong-way driver on the Kennedy Expressway caused a head-on crash that hurt four people early Sunday.

The two-car crash happened at about 3:50 a.m. when a male drove a vehicle southbound into the northbound lanes of the Kennedy (I-90) near North Avenue and collided with another vehicle, according to Illinois State Police.

Three people were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and one other to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Illinois State Police said. Their ages, genders or conditions were not immediately known pending an ongoing investigation Sunday morning.

A male driver was arrested for DUI, and charges were pending Sunday morning, police said.
