A 3-year-old boy was found dead on Chicago’s South Side Monday morning and police are conducting a death investigation.
Authorities said the boy was found just before 8:30 a.m. at 122nd and Green in the city’s West Pullman neighborhood with “visible injuries on his body.”
The boy was taken to Roseland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Department of Children and Family Services said it is investigating the parents after allegations of abuse were made. The department noted that it had not had prior contact with the family before those allegations.
Police said a death investigation remained ongoing as of Monday afternoon.
