Three Injured in River West Crash After Police Chase Ends

Police arrested a 21-year old man for his role in a car accident after a police chase early Wednesday

Police have arrested a 21-year old man for his role in a car accident that started with a police chase early Wednesday.

According to police, an officer began pursuing a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed around 1:30 a.m. near the 3500 block of South Halsted.

Police ended the chase in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood, and shortly after, the fleeing car crashed in River West, near Halsted and Chicago Avenue.

Three people were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. 

Charges against the 21-year old driver are pending.
