Three were charged by police Monday for alleged involvement in a string of South Loop robberies.

Desmond D. Bell, 19; Angela A. Sewell, 21; and Larry Middleton, 18, were accused of being involved with several robberies that occurred in the South Loop between July 7 and July 14, according to Chicago police.

During the incidents, the offenders approached several victims from behind, wrestled them to the ground and stole their property before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Bell and Sewell were charged with five counts of robbery, and Middleton was charged with three counts of robbery after police connected them with the crimes using surveillance.

All three will appear in court Thursday.
