3 Buildings Catch Fire in Englewood as Firefighters Battle Blaze in Hot Temperatures

There were no immediate reports of injuries in the blaze, according to CFD

Firefighters were battling flames and dangerously hot temperatures Monday afternoon in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. 

Crews were working to put out an extra-alarm fire in the 6800 block of South Lafayette as a blaze quickly spread to at least three buildings, fire officials said. 

There were no immediate reports of injuries in the blaze, according to CFD. 

Monday brought with it heat index readings in the upper-90s.
