Authorities say a woman was found stabbed multiple times inside a burning home Friday in the Brighton Park neighborhood.

It happened at a home in the 2500 block of W. 45th Street and was struck by 3 p.m.

Heavy smoke and flames were visible at the rear of the home when firefighters arrived, and the scene was elevated to an extra-alarm fire because of frozen fire hydrants.

The victim is a female, but additional information about her identity was not available.

Officials say the fire is suspicious due to the volume of the flames. The police bomb and arson unit is investigating the cause.
