A 21-year-old woman was killed after she was hit by a semi-truck while riding her bike in Chicago Tuesday morning, police said.
The accident happened around 8:15 a.m. in the 800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, along a busy stretch of road, which has a designated bike lane.
The woman was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, authorities said.
The 37-year-old driver of the truck stayed at the scene, police said, and citations were pending.
